Pastoralist leaders dialogue to end cattle raiding conflicts in Tonj

Tonj South County held on Tuesday a peaceful dialogue between cattle keepers of different sections to end raiding conflicts.

According to Don Bosco Radio, the three conflicting sections of Thonj, Muok, and Yar reached a peaceful dialogue to end violence among their communities.

Since last year, hundreds of lives were lost, houses burnt and thousands of cattle raided in the conflicts between the three sections.

Speaking in a rally Tonj South County Commissioner Agor Malang Agor calls for peace and end land dispute and cattle raiding.

The commissioner discourages arms carrying by young people in the towns.

Tonj community youth representative Bol Nyang blames local chiefs for failing to identify murderers and raiders who are left in community without being brought to justice.

He urges the government to arrest culprits in order to stop revenge killing.

The community leaders spoke to Don Bosco Radio in a peaceful conversation rally on Tuesday in Tonj.
