Bureau of Statistics organizes advocacy on population estimation in Wau

National of Bureau of Statistics with support from United Nations Population Fund or UNFPA, other UN agencies and development partners organized advocacy and communication on 2021 South Sudan Population Estimation survey in Wau to Western Bhar EL Ghazal state government officials.

Chairman of National Bureau of Statistic Isaiah Chol Aruai says population estimation survey is important in paving way for service delivery and planning, election and respond to disasters, Voice of Hope Radio reported.

UNMISS head of Wau field office Sam Mahamuri explains that in every country, data needs to be updated because of planning and activities whether for the government or organizations.

Governor Sarah Cleto Hassan Rial says it the role of the data collectors and supervisors who are going to be trained to give the right information concerning the survey to the citizens.

The chairman of national bureau of statistic mentioned that on the 3rd of May 2021 trained numerators and supervisors will start and data collection will begin in some parts of the three counties of Western Bhar El Ghazal.

The government officials who attended the training are ministers, commissioners with exception of Raja Commissioner, members of independent commissions, advisors, SSPDF, organized forces and members of civil society organization.
