Schools to open next week, confirms Yei Commissioner

Schools will re-open from next Monday, Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa, Commissioner of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State, confirmed on Wednesday.

He urged education stakeholders to design a guide on how much money should be paid by primary schools per term, Radio Easter reported.

The commissioner called on parents and teachers to sacrifice to ensure that all learners return to school by all means.

Cyrus believes that looking at the value of a child by sending him or her to school is more important than the issues which are making schools closed.

He reminded teachers of their obligations and responsibilities of building the children of God.

The commissioner called on parents to perform their duties of paying their children’s school fees to facilitate and ease their studies.

Meanwhile Juan Margret, Director-General of Education revealed plans to meet with head teachers and parents to discuss strategies of re-opening schools.

She requested learners to prepare to join school in order to peruse achieve their ambitions.

Margret expressed county governments’ commitment to share burdens of re-opening schools, calling for patience upon waiting for the plan.

The speakers made these statements on Wednesday during a meeting that brought together all the Payam supervisors and county directors.
