South Sudan Development Organization or SSDO donated none food items to the internally displaced persons sheltering at Episcopal Diocese compound in Yei.
Speaking to radio Easter the organisation’s WASH(water hygiene and sanitation) Officer Paul Igga says they are providing wash items like buckets, bathing soap and chlorine tablets for treating water.
He adds this is the second time the organization was distributing these items to the IDP due to the continued increase in the number of people settling in the church compound.
Paul explains they distributed items to about 348 households which is equivalent to 1,102 individuals.
The wash officer stresses that IDPs are very vulnerable and believes that the items will reduce chances of water and sanitation diseases in the overcrowded camp
Igga mentions his organization will be conducting hygiene campaigns twice a week at the IDPs camp.
