Floods due to heavy rains displaced 1500 households in the former Luany-jang North County of Tonj, said Albino Angok Majak, Executive Director of former Luany-jang North County.
He said the situation of displaced persons is dire and appealed to the government and NGOs to rescue people with medicines, food and shelter.
Angok said the flood also devastated houses and crops.
The Executive Director also appealed to both government and NGOs to urgently intervene by prioritizing distribution of non-food items like mosquito nets to the vulnerable persons.
