An activist in Torit is calling on citizens to practice social cohesion in their various communities.
Speaking to radio Emmanuel Civic Engagement Centre’s project manager Ochan Dominic appeals to people of Eastern Equatoria State to live in peace with their neighbours.
He adds the center is working through its Ana Junubi program to reconcile conflicting communities.
‘Ana Junubi majorly gears towards seeing people begin to live in harmony. We are trying to promote social cohesion so that the conflict throughout the country is reduced. The campaign will not finish resolving every conflict but at least it contributes positively towards the reduction of all this indifferences among people’, the program manager explains.
Dominic says the organization will organize dialogue between conflicting communities to resolve their problems.
Meanwhile Ilangi block acting Chief Aisha Wil Agany appreciates the initiative taken by Torit Civic Engagement Center.
She discourages discrimination among community members and prays that leaders may value the citizens’ lives.
