Peace workshop for local chiefs and top military officers concludes in Yei

A three-day peace building workshop organized by Yamorah, a local non-governmental organization with support from Konrad in Yei has concluded on Friday
 
The workshop was to achieve sustainable peace in Yei and South Sudan by educating local chiefs and top military officers on peaceful relationship, Radio Easter reported.
 
The event also aimed at empowering leaders with knowledge on the current developments especially the functioning of the local government system.
 
Other objectives include creating a platform for sharing common sources of conflict and violence between civilians and the army.
 
Speaking at the closure Amule Felix Sosthene, former Yei River State Administrator believes that the workshop will help building peaceful coexistence between civilians and military personnel.
 
Amule apologized to civilians for the atrocities committed by the army and doing the same for civilians who might have caused pain to soldiers for the rights.
 
The workshop organized by Yamorah with support from Konrad brought together 31 participants from the local chiefs and top military officers in Yei.
