The national Ministry of Health announced plans to open seven more covid-19 testing centres across South Sudan.

Director of Preparedness and Emergency Operations at the Ministry, Dr. Mathew Tut says the decentralization of corona virus testing will speed up detection of new cases, Bakhita radio reported.

The country currently runs two testing centres in Juba, one in Nimule and another in Bor.

Dr Tut disclosed that screening for people intending to travel outside Juba has also resumed after it was suspended in June.

He advised people of South Sudan to stick to preventive measures given by the Ministry of Health to tackle the covid-19 pandemic in the country.

The official spoke during the ministry’s weekly media briefing in Juba.
