High level delegation team of CTSAMM visits Yei

High level delegation from Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring and Verification Mechanism or CTSAMVM arrived on Wednesday in Yei River County to assess areas that need intervention.
 
Speaking to the government stakeholders and women groups CTSAMVM’s chief of staff William Gallagher says it is very important for the communities to help identify areas that need to be considered by the mechanism.
 
Minister of Education in the defunct Yei State Peter Butilli mentions Tore Payam as one of the hot spots.
 
He adds about two weeks ago over 30 people were abducted, 9 motorcycles and 12 bicycles were looted from Bandame market.
 
Peter explains that the area currently remains vulnerable with constant clash targeting civilians.
 
Women representative Hawa Adams calls for quick unification of the army to restore peace in the country.
 
She calls on the international community to hold accountable perpetrators of the atrocities committed against civil population.
 
Major general Martin Abucha explains all parties were included in the cessation of hostility agreement and they are supposed to comply by it.
 
Martin says CTSAMVM is concerned about the insecurities happening in areas of Yei and reports have been submitted to IGAD council of ministers
 
He calls on the political leaders to continue engaging with IGAD to ensure peace to reign in the area.
 
The high level team met with government leaders, civil society organizations, religious leaders, SSPDF members and SPLA IO members.
