Members of Yei civil society organization forum are calling on Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring and Verification Mechanism or CTSAMVM to immediately report violations of the revitalized peace agreement.

The call came during the visit by a team from CTSAMVM to Yei to assess the work of the mechanism on the ground.

A representative of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Daniel Friday Martin says the verification team always take long to report violations of cessation of hostility agreement by armed groups in Yei.

He mentions CTSAMVM did not report the clashes between armed groups in Morobo and Lainya counties.

Daniel suggests that it would be better for CTSAMVM to collaborate with the civil society organizations in the area to strengthen their work.

Meanwhile CTSAMVM’s representative Dan Lizzul acknowledges the concerns of the activists.

He explains investigation and monitoring reports takes a long time to be completed.

Dan mentions a challenge of parties involved in confrontation denying responsibilities for their actions.

The speakers made the statements during meeting between CTSAMVM and Yei civil society organization forum on Wednesday at ECSS guest house.
