The ministry of Health ordered state government to stop isolating humanitarian workers who serve across the country.

In letter addressed to state health authorities, the Incident Manager of COVID-19 in Dr. Richard Lako said the ministry have learnt that some states are forcing humanitarian workers who travel from Juba to undergo 14-days quarantine.

He noted aid workers are forced to undergo additional isolation even after completing pre- travel testing and quarantine arrangement in Juba.

Dr. Lako mentioned the practice is inconsistence with national health policy and should not be allowed to continue across the country.

The incident manager added that forceful quarantine reduces the efficiency of COVID-19 response as well as humanitarian operations.
