Security forces have arrested one inmate in Abyei, South Sudan, from the three prisoners who escaped from Wau Prison last month, says Remijo Hassan Saverio, Secretary-General of Western Bahr el Ghazal State.
He says Abyei administrators told the state government about the arrest of one of the escapees from the state last month.
Hassan disclosed that the state authorities are now preparing to bring back the inmate to the prison.
The state renewed efforts to investigate the whereabouts of the three inmates who ran away.
The Secretary General adds that, a committee from the national government has arrived to the state to investigate and inspect Wau Central Prison’s standoff, says the Secretary-General of Western Bahr el Ghazal State.
