The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has directed churches to observe government’s restrictions of mass gatherings and keep churches closed.
In his message read by Secretary General of the Archdiocese of Juba, Fr. Samuel Abe, Stephen Ameyu Martine says the directive aims at boosting efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Bakhita Radio reports.
The Catholic prelate advices the public to respect the preventive and control measures issued by the government and pray at home.
Schools and religious institutions have been closed down since March as a preventive measure to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus.
