A group of carpenters in Rumbek Town are encouraging idle young people to engage in vocational training skills such as carpentry and construction.

Speaking to Good News Radio Simon Angora says carpentry skills create jobs for many young people and disengaged them from cattle raiding and road ambushes.

Another carpenter Achol John says they have already trained some youth and now they are earning from their skills.

Gum Luka Alam appeals to the state government to regulate sales of timbers to allow them sell to customers at affordable prices.

The carpenters were speaking to Good News Radio at Rumbek Market.
