Former commissioner calls for government intervention on conflict escalation

The former commissioner of Awul County of defunct Tonj State called upon the government to rescue the escalating communal conflict situation.
 
Angelo Yak Bol urged both state and national government to urgently form a committee to save people’s lives in the area.
 
He mentioned that youth do not really know what they are fighting for.
 
Yak explained that a big number of civilians’ houses were burnt and they are living under trees without food, shelter, water and clothes.
 
He called for transparency and accountability to bring the culprits to book.
 
Executive Director of former Warrap county Aduot Ayieny Aleu said two people were injured on Sunday attack but they are in good condition. 
 
He added that the situation is normal with no more gunshots in the area.
 
It is not the first time for Atok and Awan community of Tonj North to fight over cattle raiding and revenge killing.
 
Efforts to reach Rualbet local authority were not successful due to network condition.
