Director urges parents to report any form of violence against school children

The Director in the department of Gender at the State Ministry of Education and Instruction in Western Bar el Gha zal is calling on parents and guardians to report any kind of violence committed against school children during this Coronavirus.
 
Terezina Joseph Lisa stresses that reporting cases of violence to the concerned authorities is the best way to seek justice and reduce the practice.
 
The Director says all schools are closed due to the pandemic and students must stay away from troubles and focus on books.
 
She urges pupils and students to follow the health guidelines to protect themselves and their families from getting infected with the virus.
 
According to UN, Inter-communal fighting has been on the rise across South Sudan. ‘In the first quarter of 2020, it was the main source of violence affecting civilians, having led to 658 deaths, 452 injuries, 592 abductions and 65 cases of sexual violence’.
 
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights earlier condemned a fresh wave of inter-communal violence in South Sudan.
