Coronavirus has affected celebration of the World Refugee Day commemorated annually to stand in solidarity with refugees and IDPs, according to Tumaini Sango, head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or UNHCR.
He called on everybody to fight the pandemic by practicing social distance daily to avoid the spread of the virus.
Sango commended the people of Yei for standing with Refugees and IDPs encouraged them to continue supporting the needy tirelessly at this difficult moment.
World Refugee Day is marked annually on June 20, but failed this year because of the health measures which do not allow people to come together.
