Community Empowerment for Rehabilitation on Development or CEFORD is conducting two-day training for key stakeholders including army police Church and community leaders.
The workshop coincided with commemoration of international day for elimination of conflict related sexual violence.
CEFORD program manager Kaunda David told Radio Easter that they organized the workshop to find out resolutions to the conflict based on the media reports of the rape cases in Yei.
The workshop aimed at creating awareness on the need to end conflict related sexual violence.
Another objective is to add voices over rape of women and girls in conflict related violence and call for an end to impunity of the perpetrators.
David mentioned that the training had enabled them to discuss some causes of conflict related sexual violence.
He cited that challenges especially rape were identified and discussed during the workshop, providing solutions to address sexual violence.
The solutions include moral orientation and rotation of soldiers, timely pay of salaries and food supply.
It is recommended that there is need to have mobile courts to carry out legal proceedings for trying suspects who perpetrated sexual violence.
