Wolde Gabriel Saugeron, who leads the International Committee of the Red Cross’ team in Bor, Jonglei State fears that armed violence eruption again will causing more deaths, injuries and displacement.
He the ICRC would be devastated by the armed violence while carrying out even life-saving humanitarian action to assist the families and communities.
He said they fear fighting would erupt to the full scale as they saw over the last few months.
Saugeron warned that ‘in Jonglei State, the security and safety that peace is meant to bring to families and communities is slipping from their grasp’.
He said humanitarians ultimately have limits on what they can say and do to preserve life, as COVID-19 has shown.
