EU calls for reforms to step up support to South Sudan

European Union or EU called for genuine progress in the reforms in transparent public financial management and accountability for human rights abuses to stop impunity to step up support to South Sudan.
 
EU in a statement CRN got on Friday indicated that the set-up of transitional justice institutions is also paramount.
 
It urged the government and all relevant stakeholders to redouble efforts to timely implement the peace deal through compromise.
 
EU also called on the transitional government to stop the widespread violence and facilitate the safe and unhindered access of aid workers to the needy.
 
It encouraged IGAD and its Member States to continue to step up their efforts to monitor and support peace implementation in South Sudan.
 
The EU also supports the efforts of the AU, which will remain instrumental to help the full implementation of the agreement.
