Police commissioner in former Yei River State says detention of civilians in military prison is unlawful and unprofessional.
Major General Yoasa Lujang Kamba explains military prison is not a lawful detention facilitate for civilians unless the person is convicted with crimes against the nation.
He adds any person in custody deserves to be treated with dignity like any human beings and his/her relative has right to visitation in the prison.
Gen Kamba reveals civilians are ignorant of their rights and do not know where to present their case.
The police commissioner stresses cases of debts can be handled by the public persecution attorney by giving warrant of arrest to police for further actions.
Meanwhile Public prosecution attorney Wafa Khamis Morjah says to arrest a person there must be arrest warrant issued by the public prosecution office.
She advises citizens to refuse to be detained without warrant from the arresting officer.
