Education Ministry and UNESCO agree to support radio learning program

The national Ministry of General Education and UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO on Wednesday signed an agreement to reinforce learning program as a response to covid-19 impact on education
 
In the agreement, UNESCO will give 78,000 US Dollars to the Ministry Education to extend radio learning program to areas where SSBC and Miraya FM are not reaching.
 
Deputy Minister Martin Tako told journalists that the pandemic has destroyed learning programs and people including future leaders of the country.
 
UNESCO Country Representative Julius Banda said the ministry is doing its best to insure that there is continuous leaning program with donors’ support during the pandemic.
 
He called for infrastructure in South Sudan so that students may be able to have enough classrooms, good environment to avoid leaning under trees.
 
UNESCO has ensured inclusive and quality education for all South Sudanese children, said Tap Raj Pant, UNESCO Chief of Education Unit.
