South Sudan Civil Society Forum or SSCSF condemns in the strongest terms possible shooting of civilians by men in uniform at sherikat-Bor Park in Juba on Wednesday.
In a statement by the forum it says at least five people were shot dead and seven others injured in this unjustified shooting of unarmed civilians.
Civilians in Juba have almost on daily basis suffered murder, robbery, rape, and other forms of criminality, by armed men without justice to the victims, the statement reads in parts.
The forum calls on the Inspector General of police service and the Chief of Defense Forces to ensure culprits of sherikat shooting are apprehended and punished according to the law.
SSCSF further calls on the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity to urgently prevail over the deplorable security situation nationwide to allow the country to focus on peace implementation and the fight against COVID-19.
