Young people at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Nimule of the Catholic Diocese of Torit embark on different activities such as agriculture, savings and charitable work during this coronavirus pandemic.

Up to now Churches are not yet allowed to congregate on Sundays like before due to the high chances of getting infected with covid-19.

Speaking to Radio Emmanuel, secretary of the Youth Apostolate, Drici God-will Mogga says the youths are beginning to organize themselves to find ways of survival.

‘Currently as I said before, other activities are suspended because of the lockdown. The activities we are currently doing are for example first, we have group saving association within our choir level. Every Sunday at 4 PM we are coming to do our saving and credit association activity and also we are doing some charitable work within the church because going outside the church is abandoned. You cannot do the charitable work outside the church premise. So we are currently having our garden we are going to see how we are cultivating’, he adds.

God-will calls on his fellow youths to educate community members in the nation on Covid-19 which is affecting the globe.

He tells Christians to return to God so as to overcome the current situation.

‘Actually, what I will be telling to all the youth during this Lockdown is that this is the right chance for us to educate the community and the entire nation about the current situation. The scripture says always if we return to God, He is always merciful and can always hear our prayer and will give us what we want. So, there is nothing much to worry about this current situation. We can easily try to fight it through prayer and fasting. This is what we should encourage within our association or this group of the youth’.

The Youth Secretary was speaking to Radio Emmanuel in a Telephone interview on Wednesday.
