School girls from primary five to senior four receive first round financial support from Girls’ Education South Sudan or GESS office in Yei.

While addressing the girls’ supervisor at Yei municipal education department Charity Jenaba appreciates GESS for supporting the young girls, Radio Easter reports.

She adds the financially support will help the school girls to buy necessities and continue to focus on studies despite the corona virus.

Jenaba warns that the money given to the girls is not meant for luxury but to help in buying scholastic materials.

School officer for GESS program Sambala Moses explains the cash transfer support is given to girls to buy basic needs so that they can continue to stay in schools.

He encourages students to support their parents while at home and protect themselves from contracting the virus.

The speakers made the remarks while addressing school girls at Kinji primary school on Thursday in Yei.
