Muslims in the Nuba Mountains are celebrating Eid El Fitr under tough conditions due to the spread of coronavirus throughout Sudan which led to the closure of business around border areas.
Wounded Affairs officer, Himam Aliyas, told Radio Voice of Peace that they were not able to buy gifts or children’s clothes for celebration due to coronavirus lockdown in the country.
He mentioned that Muslims did not gather for group prayers as usual due to fear of spread of COVID-19.
Sakina Jarnebi, a teacher in St Joseph Secondary School, called on the faithful to continue praying so that God heals the people infected with coronavirus.
However number of Muslims expressed their hope for the well-being of every citizen and quick return to normal situation in the country.
