A medical doctor at Rumbek State Hospital Abraham Maker Mangar advised citizens to use preventive measures against malaria to reduce number of admissions during the rainy season.

He said families need to clear bushes around their houses and avoid stagnant water that harbours mosquitoes, Good News Radio reported.

He also advised the general public to always sleep under treated mosquito nets.

Maker said people should not concentrate much on prevention of Covid-19 and forget other deadly diseases like malaria.

The official was speaking to Good News Radio at Rumbek State Hospital on Friday.
