Listeners of Radio Don Bosco in Tonj called on government to intervene and settle the communal clashes between the defunct Tonj and Wau States.

The dispute has been there since 2019 and resulted to loss of lives, properties as well as displacement.

Deng for good, one of the regular callers, stressed that lack of state governors and county commissioners is a great challenge in handling conflict.

He told Don Bosco Radio that insecurity will not allow people to cultivate in this rainy season, calling on security personnel to suppress the act of unknown gunman.

Another caller, Action Mabeny, demanded disbarment of civilians to ensure that peace prevails in the region and the nation as a whole.

He urged conflicting communities to forgive one another and encourage farmers to use modern farming methods in order to produce crops for both consumption and commercial use.

The speakers made the remark to Don Bosco Radio on Thursday during morning breakfast show in Tonj.
