Prison Service Commissioner of Tonj Marko Awoch Kuot appreciated International Committee of the Red Cross for distributing protecting kits and conducting awareness on covid19 pandemic to inmates.
He praised the Committee for the good gesture of delivering materials for prevention of covid19 among prisoners, Don Bosco Radio reported.
The officer mentioned that the materials distributed include buckets, soaps, and gloves, masks and many necessities.
Awec noted that this year nothing happened, and that authorities released some prisoners of minor cases due to covid19.
The officer said they stopped chief courts because they don’t allow those of minor cases to enter into the prison.
Commissioner of prison appreciate Radio Don Bosco for visiting the prison service office to know the condition of the prisoners and also how they are going on with the Covid19 situation.
The prison service officer made the remarks to Don Bosco radio on Tuesday in Tonj.
