The South Sudan Islamic Council has asked authorities of Juba City Council to return a disputed piece of land at Konyo-konyo Market which they have been wrangling over.
Islamic Council Secretary-General Sheikh Abdullah Barach claimed that the land is fully registered under the names of their institution, Radio Bakhita reported.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shango, Secretary of the Islamic Council in the former Jubek State asked the City Council to provide their legal documents to prove its words.
On his part, Khalid Juma, a Islamic Trustee said it is their right as Muslims to own a land like any other religious institution in the country.
The Islamic council of South Sudan owns big portion of land in Konyo-Konyo market.
The officials spoke to journalists in Juba on Thursday.
