The UN agency for Refugees donates three ambulances to the Ministry of Health in South Sudan.
The ambulances will be distributed to Juba Teaching hospital, Yei, and Yambio hospitals to fight the spread of COVID-19.
During the donation this morning at Juba teaching hospital UNHCR representative Adan D llmi says their contribution is specific because coronavirus needs a combined effort to fight it.
He adds Yambio and Yei need these ambulances because of its locations as frontline states.
‘Many returnees enter the country through these two areas which may be risky to contain the disease’, Adan explains.
Minister of Health Elizabeth Acuei appreciates UNHCR for donating the ambulances to the ministry in bits to fight the deadly corona virus.
She adds these cars will facilitate activities of the ministry of health in the country.
The minster asks UNHCR to continue helping in any way that they can to save lives of people of South Sudan.
Minister Elizabeth also appeals to UNHCR to extent the contribution to other states.
The items donated by UNHCR includes three ambulances for Juba, Yei and Yambio hospitals, beddings, personal protective equipment’s or PPE wash Items among others.
The donation took place today at Juba Teaching Hospital.
