Ministry of Health in Wau, Western Bahr El-Ghazal State confirmed first case of coronavirus after the test result came back from Juba positive on Friday, Director-General Dr. James Ambrose Ucin disclosed.
Voice of Hope Radio quoted him explaining that the patient was coming from Juba and heading to Bentiu via Wau.
Out of the sixteen samples taken from Wau to Juba for test only one person was confirmed positive, Dr Ambrose added.
The Director-General advised the public to maintain the measures and avoid gathering near the isolation center for their safety to reduce the spread of the virus.
South Sudan has 294 cases with four recoveries and four deaths according to the taskforce committee on Covid-19.
The official spoke to Voice of Hope Radio on Friday in Wau.
