Armed robbers loot 700,000 SSP from business vehicle at Torit-Kapoeta

Police authorities in Torit of Eastern Equatoria State said unknown gunmen on Monday ambushed a business vehicle and robbed seven hundred thousand South Sudan Pounds and a number of mobile telephones.
 
According to the police, the incident happened at 7:00 PM when a business vehicle coming from Lopa to Torit was ambushed in a place known as Karabu Benzin near Idolu along Torit-Kapoeta road.
 
Former Torit State police spokesperson Major Justine Cleophas Takuru confirmed to Radio Emmanuel that the unknown gunmen stopped the car and robbed money and mobile telephones at a gunpoint.
 
He revealed that there are no dead cases reported in the ambush.
 
The Police spokesperson added that no suspects have been arrested, but that investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits.
 
He appealed to the local population to cooperate with the security agents in handing suspects for justice.
