Yei Administrator visits IDPs at Gezira site

The government of Yei defunct state pay a courtesy visit to the displaced community of Mukaya at Gezira IDP camp.
 
According to Radio Easter the state Administrator Amule Felix Sosten while addressing the Internally Displaced Persons explains the displacement is politically motivated to allow government to resolve issues of abduction in their area.
 
He adds government forces will patrol and monitor Mukaya until when it is safe for civilians to return.
 
Felix stresses his administration has small assistance of maize flour, beans and Sackets of salt to sustain the IDPs for a short time while they lobby for more support from partners like World Food Program or WFP.
 
The administrator appeals to NGOs to stand in solidarity with the internally displaced communities.
 
He mentions the number of the displaced has increased to seven thousand which is becoming difficult to manage without support from other partners.
 
The official encourages IDPs to practice the health emergency measures to avoid contracting corona virus.
 
The state administrator spoke to the internally displaced persons during delivery of food items at Gezira IDPs site in Yei.
