South Sudan has announced another case of COVID-19 raising the number of confirmed cases to 35.

The High-Level Task Force on Covid-19 pandemic said on Wednesday that the patient is a 23-year-old female who wanted to travel to Kuajok in Warrap state.

The Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health Dr. Makur Koriom says the public laboratory released 100 results and one case was confirmed positive while 14 were equivocal and need a retest.

He says the new patient had no contact with the previous 34 cases, signalling a surge in community transmissions.

Regularly wash your hands with soap and water, stay home and maintain physical distances to stop the spread of COVID-19.
