United Nation Children Education Fund or UNICEF is conducting a three day corona virus awareness training for religious leaders in Yei.
UNICEF’s Ebola and Covid-19 consultant Alex Jubek Santo explains the training aims at empowering church leaders to disseminate correct information on the global pandemic.
Rev. Stephen Dada pastor in charge of Presbyterian Church of South Sudan says the training is very important for them as they deliver sermons.
He urges different religious leaders in Yei to abide by the regulations of high level taskforce banning communal prayers in order to avoid inconveniences.
Pastor Dada appeals to Church authorities to distant themselves from listening to false information regarding corona virus and take the correct message from the national ministry of health World Health Organization.
Another participant pastor Joseph Laila of the African Inland Church says the training has helped him realize that only observing the preventive measures can stop the spread of COVID-19.
The speakers spoke to Radio Easter during the opening of the three day Awareness training on Tuesday in Yei.
