Don Bosco, John Lee Hospital offer medicines to IDPs in Tonj

Don Bosco Mission and John Lee Memorial Hospital in Tonj on Friday gave medicines to some three-hundred and twenty-five internally displaced persons or IDPs suffering from various diseases in Tonj.
 
According to Don Bosco Radio, they were displaced two months ago in Kuelchok area 15 kilometers Tonj southwest.
 
Don Bosco Directress Sister Shanty Anthony, who led the team, said it is the work of religious mission to rescue the lives of suffering people on the ground especially the IDPs who fled their homes and some vulnerable people.
 
She says it was not easy to reach the suffering people outside due to COVID-19 lockdown but Don Bosco Mission managed to access the ground and gave them medicines.
 
Sister Shanty mentioned that three-hundred and twenty-five patients received medication against different diseases affecting the population.
 
The directress said the common disease found on the ground affecting the whole camp is malaria, abdomen pain and diarrhea.
 
The mission promised to visit the IDPs camp once a month, she disclosed.
 
The team leader spoke to Don Bosco Radio over the weekend in Tonj.
