Civil Society Organizations or CSOs in Wau are calling for action plan to end the rising insecurity cases, killing innocent civilians in the major roads of Wau-Bagari, Wau-Bussere and Wau-Besselia.

These CSOs raise concerns about repeated incidents that occurred a few weeks ago leaving 6 people dead and one person sustained serious injuries.

The incidents were recorded along Wau Bagari, Wau-Basselia, and Wau-bussere roads causing panic and instability among the IDPs who left the POCs in response to the call of the State Taskforce to vacate as a precautionary measure against Corona virus.

The Executive Director and Coordinator for Peace and Reconciliation Working Group Organizations in Wau, Orasio Opiyo Buolo calls for urgent investigation into the matter to bring the perpetrators to court.

The Coordinator calls on the signitories to the MoU signed on 1st of December 2018 to initiate joint patrols and increase monitoring to combat such incidents to respect it.

The Executive Director for Women Training and Promotion Organization, WOTAP Linda Ferdinand Hussein, says such insecurity cases may force IDPs to return to POCs.

Linda Ferdinand appeals to the families of the deceased to follow the cases peacefully or legally to bring the attackers before the court of law.

The Civil Society Organizations ask the state government to monitor closely the movement of cattle keepers in the region and engage them in constructive discussion over cattle related issues.

The body made the concerns on Thursday in Wau, over the issues of rampant killing.
