Director-General urges public to prepare for farming despite insecurity

Despite citizens’ concerns of insecurity in the area, the Director-General in the Ministry of Education in defunct Tonj State is urging South Sudanese to use coronavirus holiday for cultivation to fight hunger in the country.
 
Keloktuol Konybai Madhol, says students should contribute by helping their parents to produce food for consumption.
 
Meanwhile some people predicted that the ongoing communal conflicts in Tonj, may affect farming this year if government does not intervene to resolve the issues.
 
The Director-General encourages students to be patient until the end of the lock down and schools may reopen.
 
Director-General Madhol explains that people are finding it difficult to follow coronavirus preventive measures due to the culture of shaking hands.
 
If any head teacher starts operation without directives from national level his or her school will be closed for three years and the learners scattered to different schools in the town, he warned.
 
The official appeals to national government to provide food aid to people becasue COVID-19 lockdown has affected them.
