Wau Central Prison administration says the prisoners are committed to the fight against coronavirus by observing the preventive measures.
The prison director Peter Madut Bawrjok says the administration decided to separate new inmates from the old ones for observation purpose because of this virus.
He mentions some organizations are supporting the prisoners with basic hygiene kits like soaps, hand washing facilities among others.
The director stresses that, the administration have stopped unnecessary visits to the inmates because of the risk it may cause due to the pandemic.
Peter calls on the government to reduce the number of prisoners by freeing those with minor crimes.
The officer made the remarks to Voice of Hope radio in Wau.
