Official urges parents to allow their children to study at home

The acting director in the Ministry of Education in Yambio Western Equatoria State is calling on parents to allow their children to study while at home.
 
Speaking to Radio Anisa Charles Ikpiro says parents should teach their children new skills as corona virus outbreak has led to closure of all educational institutions in the country. 
 
He adds all school going children should show interest in studies instead of loitering around.
 
Since the outbreak of corona virus almost all countries have closed learning institutions, he explains.
 
Late last month South Sudan’s President issued a decree banning all social gathering including schools in the country.
 
The Ministry of Education with support from partners plans to roll out educational programs on radio stations and the national television in bits to help the school going children.
 
The acting director was speaking to Radio Anisa on Tuesday in Yambio.
