SPLM IO soldiers in Western Equatoria are asking for assurance of peace in order to join the government army.
Speaking to radio Anisa one of the brigadiers of SPLM IO Jonathan Santos in Tombura says he is not sure what will happen to them if they join the government forces.
He claims a delegation visited him and asked him to join the government.
According to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan or R-ARCSS, Chapter 2.4.1 it says all the heads of opposition Armed Groups shall continue as commanders-in-chief of their forces until the end of the Pre-Transitional
period or until the end of the unification process.
Brigadier Santos says they are following the preventive measures by the ministry of health to combat COVID-19.
The leader was speaking to Anisa Radio in Yambio.
