Christians are urged to reconcile with one another because Jesus Christ reconciled people with the father, said Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Reverend Mathias Ukpong.

He said human beings cannot withdraw the spirit of forgiveness that Jesus demonstrated by dying for the man kind.

‘We celebrate Easter so that we are reconciled with God and so this reconciliation as Jesus Christ has reconciled back to His Father and we also have our own part to play in reconciliation  we have to be reconciled with our brothers and sisters we have to be reconciled to all those with their granges all those we have with some kinds of traumas some hidden agendas some kinds of bad thoughts we have to be reconciled with them the world has so much broken us and so we are human beings on earth we have to reconcile with this brokenness because Jesus Christ for give those who executed him and so if Jesus Christ forgive those who executed him then we from our own part do have the essence to withdraw forgiveness’, Fr Ukpong said.

The priest mentioned that lives would have been with no hopes of eternal life which is built by following Jesus Christ.

‘Our life would have been miserable if for instance we forecast on this life and then we just feel that everything I this life ends here that there is no life after here then our life is just miserable Jesus Christ occasioned Christianity for us let us also not that Christianity was not the religion that Jesus Christ belong to Jesus Christ was not a Christian but he occasioned Christianity because after his dead and resurrections the people who followed his life originated Christianity but Jesus Christ his way and his life occasioned it and so we servo and enjoy the Easter season because what we do every day reverse around Easter we celebrate this because it was the day of Jesus induction and in memory Christ’, he preached.

Fr Mathias made the remarks during Easter celebration at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
