The parish priest of Christ the King Cathedral, Catholic diocese of Yei preaches that Christians are given the 40 days of fasting in order to realize their mistake and change from their bad ways.

Fr. Tom Poru Martin explains change is a process that requires time, for a person to realize and reframe from bad deeds, Radio Easter reports.

The priest mentions that a sinful person stays longer in the world because God wants him or her to change.

He stresses that God wants Christians to change in order to be free from the bondage of sin.

God has given human being freedom but they handed it to Satan, Fr Tom adds

The catholic prelate regrets that Christians have become slave to the devil.

The priest encourages faithful to emulate Abraham in the Bible and repent from all their evil ways.
