Corona-Virus cases upgraded to four, a South Sudanese, fifty-six-year-old S works for UN based in Juba was tested positive, high level taskforce on Covid-19 confirmed on Friday.
The Undersecretary of Ministry of Health, Dr Makur Matur Koryom, said the fourth-case had a close contact with the first case.
‘He is not asymptomatic, he is not ill, but in a good health and isolated’, Dr Matur explained.
‘The public health laboratory tested 17 samples collected over the last 24-hours and all results returned negative’, Dr Koryom disclosed.
He added that the taskforce recieved an alert from a hotel in Juba and the suspect’s sample has been collected by the Rapid Response Team for examination.
Dr Matur said the total number of people tested is 90 and four cases are positive.
The second and the fourth cases are local transmission because they are very close contacts to the first case, Makur noted.
“The second case contacts are eleven, five within the UN system and six within the community”, he disclosed.
The Taskforce on Covid-19 established by the head of state and deputized by Dr Riek Machar and senior officials who are members, the committee urged the public to follow the precautionary measures to fight Covid-19.
South Sudan joined the globe on the pandemic virus that is yet to be cured because its affecting the respiratory system.
