Union of Journalists of South Sudan or UJOSS in Western Bahr-El-Ghazal State is calling on reporters to practice all safety measures directed by the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization against COVID-19 in the country.
UJOSS State Chairperson Alor Deng Kur, urges media personnel to be careful in field areas because they are at high risk of contracting the virus.
Deng also advises journalists to observe the measures such as use of mask and gloves, distancing from one another and regular hand washing.
‘This should be seriously practiced especially when a journalist is going for news coverage’, he added.
Deng acknowledges the efforts made by journalists and encourages them to continue with their work with full care and responsibility.
The official was speaking to journalists from the State Ministry of Information in Wau.
