President Kiir confirms third positive case of COVID-19 patient

The Head of State confirms that the third case of COVID-19 patient is a 28-year-old UN Staff working in Torit. 
 
Salva Kiir Mayardit in his address says the third patient was a contact of the first positive case.
 
‘Practically Covid-19 is in Juba and Torit and we must prevent it from spreading across the country’, Kiir advises.
 
President Kiir encourages the public to avoid xenophobia or hate speech during this difficult time that people are battling with the virus.
 
The president urges citizens to respect and follow the health emergency measures to protect their lives and that of their families.
 
‘I appeal to you to seriously cooperate with us in our struggle to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our country’, He asks.
 
Undersecretary in the Ministry of Health says the patient is currently in self isolation and she is in good health.
 
Dr Makur Matur Koriom adds that the third patient has been in contact with five people.
 
The taskforce committee is tracing people who were in the same flights with the two patients.
 
The total number of people who were in contact with the three patients is sixty five people.
 
Currently there are three confirmed case reported in South Sudan.
