Police spokesperson Captain Elijah Mabor Makuac says state security committee managed to collect 38 AK47 in Rumbek town during the week.
Speaking to Good News Radio captain Mabor explains three people are in police custody under investigation for smuggling AK 47.
The spokesperson says continues search from house to house will reduce the number of guns in civilians hands hence stopping revenge killing and improved security in town.
He calls on the national government to send more forces to carry out comprehensive disarmaments in Lakes state.
The official made the remarks to Good News radio on Wednesday in Rumbek.
