The High-Level Taskforce Committee on Covid-19 confirms second positive case of Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Health Dr Makur Matur Koriom, says the patient is a UN staff, 53-year-old arrived from Nairobi, Kenya on March 23rd and she in good health.
He adds the second patient was not a contact to the first patient.
‘The ministry of health and partners, World Health Organization and the United Nations has launched investigation to trace people who may have been in contact with the second patient’, Dr Matur explains.
The undersecretary mentions after all the contacts are identified they will follow the routine protocol of quarantine and testing.
The official urges citizens to remain calm and avoid hate speech or xenophobic activities because the virus does not discriminate.
There are two cases reported in the country so far in order to stay safe, adhere to the health emergency measures by the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization or WHO.
