Ministry to spray Juba against corona-virus, says Official

Undersecretary in the Ministry of Environment says his office and the taskforce have come up with an estimated budget of 500 thousand US Dollars for spraying different places in Juba.
 
Joseph Africano Bartel told CRN on Tuesday that a local company is given the contract to spray some of the areas believed to be hotspots for the virus. 
 
He explains ‘At the moment they are looking forward to 250,000 square meters to be sprayed and that will entail markets, hospitals and institutions”. 
 
The undersecretary adds if they get enough money they will be able to spray the border’.
 
Africano mentions that the absence of town mayor has slowed waste collection in the city hence poor hygiene, clean environment prevent diseases like covid-19.
 
He urges people to clean their residential and take the garbage near main street to be collected.
 
‘We cannot wash our hands and the environment is dirty’, he appeals.
 
The ministry of environment is part of the secretariat of High-Level Taskforce Committee that is led by the President Salva Kiir and deputize by the first vice president Riek Machar and senior officials.
 
South Sudan is among a handful of African countries that is Covid-19 free.
